There is no screen, just a monochrome matrix display which show roundabouts, turnings, distances etc. Since the Audi standard unit is wider, the dealer fitted a couple of blanking plates. The unit is single DIN sized & directly replaces a normal stereo. The unit costs around £470, around £100 to fit plus a few other bits & bobs (my Audi required a can-bus converter which cost £100). I considered the new 2600 series Garmin, but felt that it was a lot of money to spend for an untidy car solution. The Streetpilot is fine on the bike, providing I turn off the automatic recalculate, and orientate the display North up. That, and the map (version 5) was getting out of date. I had been getting frustrated with the plethora of wires needed when using my Streetpilot III in the car. You could have that if you have a CDC because you can then send it commands by using the HU's buttons and such.Although not strictly relevant to this forum, I thought someone might be interested in my latest toy - the Blaupunkt Travelpilot E1 sat nav - which I've just had fitted in my car. IF there's anyone who's finding about the same results as I do I'd be very interested in dumps or more specific info about commands. I've got more, also some commands I don't know what they should do (I don't have a CDC here, just someone's sourcecode and two dumps, and my HU of course). $180, $021, $14F: purpose: 'pause', stop sending time, cd, trackinfo. $109, current track minutes in BCD, current track seconds in BCD, $14F. Accepting it and starting to send the following command to the HU: Wether I send it or not doesn't seem to interest the HU atm. Would this be a heartbeat or something? ( tried this because I found this in MrBlau's dump on another forum somewhere) I tried sending single words with a small time delay between each one: $17C. Accepting it (by echoing the words exept $14F of course). accept it (by echoing the first three words as soon as they arrive) and switch baudrate. $10F, $048, $001, $14f, which is completely echoed by the HU. I just accept is by echoing the first two words ($14F is never echoed by the CDC). Over here, after power on, the HU starts with sending ( baud):
